Battle of Flowers

DATE DETAILS
A highly colourful affair, the traditional Battle of Flowers has its roots in the late nineteenth century. Carnations gathered from the fields around Valencia are centre stage for this most curious event that forms the Gran Fira finale.
Over a million blossoms from Alboraya, Meliana, Alcàsser and other locations are thrown between occupants of some 40 floats brightly decorated with flowers and the public who are gathered together in many stands along the avenue. Each carnation then forms part of a vast carpet to transform the ground most beautifully.
The event is of importance to the Fallas tradition. The girls and women who have been preselected to be part of the honour courts of the 2025 falleras mayores of València ride on the floats. Other representatives from previous years also attend the parade.
The fields surrounding Valencia must be an incredible sight during the time before harvest.
Venue: Paseo de la Alameda València.
