RACES IN VALENCIA
Races are very popular in Valencia. They come in a variety of lengths styles and are held several times throughout the year. They include a full marathon and a half marathon.
Other events include the fifteen kilometres race, seven kilometres and a ten kilometre race for women and even one involving the fallas but in autumn. Cycling is also popular, so race for bikes are also held, as the highlights show.
The marathon, Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso takes place in December, while the half marathon, Medio Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Zurich is in October.
The 6.5 km women’s race Carrera de la Mujer Central is, amongst other topics aimed at awareness of gender violence and ongoing inequality. A second is the Carrera 10KFem – Día de la Mujer… ¡Deportista! 10 kms in length to commemorate Women’s Day.
Alongside a multitude of street races, is one held in the dark. The 15K Nocturna FibraValencia is fifteen kilometres in length.

ORIGINAL MOVIES IN VALENCIA
Original language movies are screened regularly in Valencia. Expats and locals head especially to Babel and Yelmo to enjoy films mostly with subtitles, VOS or VOSE or, at times without, VO. Both art house and blockbusters can be seen.
PETS IN VALENCIA
Nowadays in Spain, people have warmed to humanity’s best friend and other pets. The Turia riverbed park is a marvellous, natural place for pets to stroll, play and interact with each other. Small areas are fenced off for dogs.
Hiking and trekking in the Valencia region is initially a matter of transport. Areas of interest for hiking are some 60 kilometres and more away from the city. Examples include Calles to Chelva, Navajas or Montanejos. Most are only accessible by car. Fortunately, one or two few can also be reached by train.
