INTERNATIONAL CLUBS IN VALENCIA

Light blue coloured logo image

Some locations offer a larger sense of community for expat residents than others. In Valencia, where socialising takes place more via social media platforms, the phenomenon of traditional international clubs is not so widespread.

Get togethers are frequently sparked through Facebook and Meetup, while, some parents set up their own networks and play groups to get together with like-minded expats and locals to confer on everyday experiences.

Clubs available in the city include the International Women’s Club of Valencia hosts a plethora of ongoing meetings such as monthly luncheons, happy hour and creative activities. Another active group is Americans living in Valencia which uses a Facebook group to communicate with its members.

And steeped in tradition, Toastmasters holds alternating meetings in English and Spanish.

ORIGINAL MOVIES IN VALENCIA

Original language movies are screened regularly in Valencia. Expats and locals head especially to Babel and Yelmo to enjoy films mostly with subtitles, VOS or VOSE or, at times without, VO. Both art house and blockbusters can be seen.

Museums

One of the greatest joys for expats interested in local history and culture is to discover the surprisingly diverse selection of museums in Valencia. Their collections and exhibits impress with their, at times simple at others, well structured and comprehensible displays of artefacts.
