POPULAR SPOTS IN VALENCIA

© Amazing Capitals / DeiaGreg

Valencia is a fascinating location with a colourful collection of people of diverse nationalities and cultures. Some assume classic circumstances of international residents and wish to meet a variety of people from other countries who have also decided to live in the city.

Beyond learning the language, integrating and getting to know Spaniards, it can be a joy to come across others who are spending extended periods of time in Valencia.

Yet the reality is that expats remain few and far between compared to the number of locals from across Spain and other foreigners whose mother tongue is Spanish or a dialect thereof.

Some expats manage to get together more or less spontaneously in a locality of choice. These gatherings can become a wonderful, yet casual tradition. Word spreads that foreigners can just come along at their leisure to meet with others at these popular spots.

Should you wish to help the community by notifying us of such places in Valencia, please get in touch. Thank you! Meanwhile, candidates may include La Batisfera in Cabanyal or Saint Martin’s and Finnegans, both near or on Plaza de la Reina.

ORIGINAL MOVIES IN VALENCIA

Original language movies are screened regularly in Valencia. Expats and locals head especially to Babel and Yelmo to enjoy films mostly with subtitles, VOS or VOSE or, at times without, VO. Both art house and blockbusters can be seen.

Museums

One of the greatest joys for expats interested in local history and culture is to discover the surprisingly diverse selection of museums in Valencia. Their collections and exhibits impress with their, at times simple at others, well structured and comprehensible displays of artefacts.
