Ceramics Museum IN VALENCIA

Museum exterior

The ceramics museum is housed in possibly the most decorative building in Valencia. Having been remodelled extensively over the centuries, the palace that belonged to the Marqués de Dos Aguas is a mix of several styles.

One of the quirks of this former home is an angelic figure located above the marble portal. When the Marquis was at home, the statue faced indoors. When the member of Valencia’s nobility vacated the property, it faced towards the street

The interior is also impressive, with spaces given over to housing the largest national collection of ceramics. Pieces date from the eighteenth century to the contemporary period, including some from Picasso.

Beyond pottery, the Museo Nacional de Cerámica boats items such as clothing, paintings and furniture, with much of the focus on local works.

PLANES AND AIRPORT IN VALENCIA

The airport of Manises is a mere stone’s throw west north west of the city of Valencia. It is easily and predictably reached by metro or taxi within twenty to thirty minutes from downtown.

STREET ART IN VALENCIA

The street art scene in this Mediterranean city is alive and thriving. Tiny, hardly noticeable, scenes vie for attention as passionately as many vast, metre-high murals. Many pieces appear harmonious, others make a more aggressive statement.

Enticing Beaches and Sea

The main city beach in Valencia is known as Playa Malvarrosa, which includes Playa del Cabanyal. Well over two kilometres in length, this beautiful stretch of sand is as peaceful off season as it is popular during warmer weather. There is more than enough space to bathe, relax and play ball games.
