English Books IN VALENCIA
Choice is one of the most important aspects of normal life that tends to be missing when expats live in a country with a foreign language. The luxury of alternatives suddenly becomes a habit that came naturally and was often taken for granted.
That holds true especially when it comes to books and films. Yes, streaming movies or ordering books online are great options. But even though English language books may be more rare and choice somewhat limited in the new location, there are a few options for bookworms and occasional partakers alike.
Nothing beats browsing prior to buying and fortunately it is possible to check out new and old out books in Valencia. Used or second life books are surprisingly widespread.
Todos Contentos y Yo Tambien Libreria is located centrally on Plaça de Mossén Sorell 10 in El Carmen, while Book Lovers is on Calle Sevilla 5 in Russafa. The barrio is also home to the wonderful Ubik Cafe, where patrons sit surrounded by books, some in English for sale.
One Re-Read store is nearby on C. Joaquin Costa 59 in Gran Vía, whilst the other is on Gran Vía Ramón y Cajal 45 in La Roqueta. El Doctor Sax – Beat & Books is also located in the old town on Calle de Quart 21 and sells a few titles in English.
Near the beach, funky La Batisfera is on Calle de la Reina 167 in Cabanyal, while English Wooks is situated within English Wink on Av. de los Tamarindes, 39 in Campanar.
Beyond the latter, which, also sells new books online further options for new books include Libreria Soriano on Calle Xàtiva 15, opposite the Valencia Nord railway station.
Then there are the public libraries in Valencia too. Several offer varying number of books in English while the centrally located Biblioteca Pública de València Pilar Faus reveals a relatively large selection.
