Equality, diversity, and inclusion are represented in Valencia through sport and culture at the Valencia Gay Games, which celebrates over ten years of success.

The Gay Games are an international sporting and cultural event held during the early summer every four years. The basic principles are participation for anyone over 18, inclusion, and personal achievement.

Some thirty seven sports as diverse as sailing, dragonboat, chess, dance sport, martial arts, wrestling, tennis, aquatics, golf and rugby. Naturally the half marathon and marathon are in also on the agenda too. All are open to all genders, as are two local non competitive exhibition sports, colpbol and Valencian pilota.

The event will also feature a schedule of cultural activities taking place in parallel that will take place both in Valencia city as well as in other towns in the province. The Gay Games will have up to 40 locations ranging from municipal sports facilities and venues in the city, such as the Trinquete Pelayo or the Palau de les Arts and the Roman Theater of Sagunt.

AIRPORT GETAWAY

Airport getaway is very easy and quick because Manises airport is comfortably close to the city centre. The metro station for trains to Valencia is underneath the terminal. Take one escalator down from arrivals and two access departures.

STREET ART IN VALENCIA

The street art scene in this Mediterranean city is alive and thriving. Tiny, hardly noticeable, scenes vie for attention as passionately as many vast, metre-high murals. Many pieces appear harmonious, others make a more aggressive statement.

Original Movies

Original language movies are screened regularly in Valencia. Expats and locals head especially to Babel and Yelmo to enjoy films mostly with subtitles, VOS or VOSE or, at times without, VO. Both art house and blockbusters can be seen.
