The Gran Fondo cycling race offers competitors two routes that start at the marina. Both meander through stunning countryside of Valencia Comunidad before returning their origin and the finish line. Expat cycling enthusiasts may see a good reason to take a trip out to watch some pure adrenaline, sweat and passion.

Both routes on the cycling tour are demanding and highly respected internally and put professionals to the test. One is 177 km long with an ascent of 2,033 metres, while the other is 148 km long with an ascent of 1,474 metres.

Both cross breathtaking landscapes and spectacular mountain passes such as L’Oronet, Chirivilla and Alto Segart. The last two are category 1 climbs, the latter having also been part of the “Vuelta Ciclista a España”.

For spectators to orientate, the 177 km route passes through Canteras at an altitude of 182 m, Puerto L’Oronet at 493 m, Alto Segart at 589 m and Puerto Chirivilla at 711 m. The 148 km follows a route through Canteras, Puerto L’Oronet at 493 m and Puerto Chirivilla.

AIRPORT GETAWAY

Airport getaway is very easy and quick because Manises airport is comfortably close to the city centre. The metro station for trains to Valencia is underneath the terminal. Take one escalator down from arrivals and two access departures.

STREET ART IN VALENCIA

The street art scene in this Mediterranean city is alive and thriving. Tiny, hardly noticeable, scenes vie for attention as passionately as many vast, metre-high murals. Many pieces appear harmonious, others make a more aggressive statement.

Original Movies

Original language movies are screened regularly in Valencia. Expats and locals head especially to Babel and Yelmo to enjoy films mostly with subtitles, VOS or VOSE or, at times without, VO. Both art house and blockbusters can be seen.
