Rice Festival Valencia

To be confirmed A rice festival that takes place over a couple of days on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Valencia is known locally as TastArròs. This fascinating event offers several delightful aspect to young and old, such as the large area of the ground in city square which is covered with rice.

This acts as an invitation to engage with others, including expats. Children love being able to play or run around on this unique surface, while adults sit or lay in the sun, relax and communicate. Tables are also arranged to enjoy tasty dishes prepared at stands in the enclosed central area. All in all a tranquil and harmonious atmosphere prevails.

Organised by the Denomination of Origin Rice of Valencia are the organisers of the gastronomic event designed to promote the culture of rice. Many restaurants participate and it is estimated that some 20,000 people attend over the weekend.
