San Juan IN VALENCIA
June 23 2025

San Juan is a celebration around the summer solstice with nighttime partying along the seashore. Revellers gather around bonfires on Mavlarosa and Cabanyal beaches with some jumping over the flames and making wishes.
Of Pagan and Christian tradition, these rituals are believed not only to cleanse or purify but they apparently help to ward off evil spirits. Another tradition is to bathe in the water and leap over any waves to bring good luck. The main reason for coming is to have fun, listen to music, dance, enjoy picnicking, drinking all in the dusk and to celebrate.
The authorities supply the wood from 6 pm in the evening and they also clean the beaches after the show is over at 4 am in the morning.
Alternatively, atmospheric outdoor music and dance can also be found neighbourhoods across much of the city

GRAN FIRA IN VALENCIA
The city comes alive when hundreds of cultural and leisure activities large and small are staged for audiences young and old. Various open spaces are transformed into venues for a range of music, contemporary or traditional dance and theatre performances. Magical and comical included.
Enticing Beaches and Sea
The main city beach in Valencia is known as Playa Malvarrosa, which includes Playa del Cabanyal. Well over two kilometres in length, this beautiful stretch of sand is as peaceful off season as it is popular during warmer weather. There is more than enough space to bathe, relax and play ball games.
